The Panathlon International Districts and Areas
A minimum of three Clubs are grouped together for organisational purposes into national Districts corresponding approximately to a State, of which they take the name. Districts are headed by a President, according to statutory rules. For countries with only one Club, this will belong to a regularly formed District of a nearby Country and its President represents Panathlon in that country. Districts are funded by membership fees paid by clubs, whose criteria are fixed by the District Assembly. District activities are governed by their own Regulations based on the guidelines issued by the International Board, upon approval of Panathlon International Districts' President's Committee. Regulations are passed by the District Assembly and approved by Panathlon International President's Committee.
An Area corresponds to an existing administrative unit including both the area of a region and the area of a confederate Country with at least 5 Clubs. Areas take the name of their region or confederate Country. Clubs from different regions, if bordering, or in case of specific geographic or language requirements, can be grouped into one Area, irrespective of their number.
The District President, in case of an extensive geographic area or a substantial number of Clubs, shall authorise the formation of a new Area, upon approval of the Governor concerned, and shall submit it to the International Board for ratification.
Areas are funded by membership fees paid by Clubs, whose criteria are fixed by their Area Assembly.
