Le Comité International Olympique (CIO) réaffirme sa position ferme contre la politisation du sport. Cette position est un principe fondamental de la Charte olympique, laquelle stipule ce qui suit :
"Reconnaissant que le sport est pratiqué dans le cadre de la société, les organisations sportives au sein du Mouvement olympique se doivent d'appliquer le principe de neutralité politique. Elles auront les droits et obligations inhérents à l'autonomie, à savoir le libre établissement et le contrôle des règles du sport, la définition de leur structure et gouvernance, la jouissance du droit à des élections libres de toutes influences extérieures et la responsabilité de veiller à ce que les principes de bonne gouvernance soient appliqués."

Le projet "Sport Against Match Fixing" (SAMF) vise à sensibiliser les athlètes de base au problème des matches truqués et à l'impact négatif de cette pratique sur la carrière des athlètes.
Ce jeu sert d'outil aux entraîneurs, aux managers et aux éducateurs pour animer des sessions d'éducation et de sensibilisation contre les matchs truqués dans le sport.
En prélude à la Journée internationale de la femme le 8 mars, le Comité International Olympique (CIO) célèbre un immense accomplissement qui sera réalisé lors des prochains Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024.
Il a en effet attribué exactement le même nombre de places de qualification pour les femmes et pour les hommes – 50:50. Pour la première fois dans l'histoire olympique, la parité sera de mise sur l'aire de compétition.
La prochaine réunion du Conseil international se tiendra les 14 jeudi et 15 vendredi mars à partir de 9h30 à Villa Queirolo - Rapallo.
Parmi les points à l'ordre du jour figurent : les rapports à présenter à l'Assemblée générale, le bilan final et le budget ainsi que la proposition de cotisation pour les deux prochaines années ; l'organisation de l'Assemblée générale et de la Table ronde à Agrigente ; les initiatives entreprises pour les Jeux olympiques de Paris ; la création d'une Commission d'éthique ; l'accord de partenariat avec la IDF ; l'adhésion aux projets Erasmus ; l'idée de créer une Mascotte pour le PI.
Le vendredi 15 mars à 11 heures aura lieu la réunion habituelle avec le Conseil d'Administration de la Fondation PI - D. Chiesa pour réfléchir sur les projets en cours et convenir des lignes d'action pour le futur proche.
Les nouveaux conseillers Andrea Tortora et Fabiano Gerevini y participeront pour la première fois, succédant à Patrick Van Campenhout et au regretté Eugenio Guglielmino.
Yesterday, February 22, was held the five-year celebration of Panathlon International's Representation at the Maison du Sport in Lausanne.
President Pierre Zappelli welcomed the participants with a speech in which he explained our aims and how, through our presence in Lausanne, we have managed to strengthen relations with the international sports world.
He also presented the results achieved and future projects. Sergei Aschwanden, judo Olympian and member of the Club Lausanne, then spoke about his sports experience and his close relationship with Panathlon.
There were numerous participants: representatives of the IOC, International Federations, International Associations and Partners, sports personalities, presidents and delegates of PI Districts along with the Treasurer, Secretary General, Vice President of the Lisbon Club and the Secretary of the Representation.
The celebration ended with an aperitif and a commemorative cake to celebrate this important milestone to the satisfaction of all participants.
Whilst representing Panathlon International, Fabio Figueiras gave an interview this week to the Portuguese Football Federation and its channel TV “Canal 11” from beautiful Switzerland, where the main topic of the interview was the Erasmus+ Project, Sport Against Match-Fixing (SAMF).
In the course of this interview, Fabio Figueiras had, amongst other, the possibility to share insights on Panathlon International’s contribution to SAMF, as well as how SAMF is contributing to mission of Panathlon International, especially when it comes to the education and awareness raising/prevention of wrong practices, such as manipulation of competitions, which are not aligned with the positive sporting and ethical values that Panathlon International stands for, such as an integral, ethical, inclusive, respectful and fair play sports.

On the 30 January 2024, the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organised the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day in Brussel (Belgium).
As part of the agenda of the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day, participating speakers discussed policies and procedures related to the application of Erasmus+ projects, as well as provided advice and suggestions on
preparing and submitting proposals, and on the different financial aspects of funding of Erasmus+ projects.
Panathlon International, represented by Fabio Figueiras, participated in-person in the Erasmus+ Sport Info Day 2024 in Brussels. In parallel to the different sessions that were planned to occur on this day, there was also opportunity to network and meet different organisations.
Consequently, Panathlon International had the opportunity to interact and exchange with multiple participating organizations, clubs and federations, with whom Panathlon International already collaborated in the past, is still collaborating or is looking forward to potential collaborate in the future.
With this participation, Panathlon International reinforced and showcased its commitment for the promotion and spread of culture and sporting ethics by fostering international collaboration through initiatives like Erasmus+. It was also a good opportunity to disseminate past and current activities and projects where Panathlon International is active, especially the ones related to Erasmus+, such as Evidence-based Prevention of Sporting-related Match-fixing (EPOSM) and Sport Against Match-Fixing (SAMF).
Noteworthy to mention, that the registrations to attend in presence to this event were closed weeks ago, as it had reached full capacity, which shows how well participated this event was.
