Panathlon International

The meeting of Panathlon International District Presidents, assisted by the PI President's Committee and the IB, took place online on 12 and 13 November. In an atmosphere of great collaboration, all the Presidents  (A – B – BR – CH – I – F – PER – MEX – RA – U) presented their reports, offering an updated overview of the activities and prospects of their respective territories.

The meeting was also attended by out-of-District clubs interested in learning about the functioning of the Committee. Colombia, Santo Domingo and Lisbon actively participated, sharing experiences and reflections.

After a rich and constructive exchange of views, the participants expressed their congratulations on the great success of the Pan American Congress held in Chihuahua, Mexico, and worked to present the attached Final Document to the International Board. The President and the Board expressed their deep appreciation for the content that emerged, which they considered to be current, relevant and useful for guiding the future political decisions of the Panathletic movement.

During the meeting, the President also recalled the upcoming PI events: the Symposium on 12 February in Milan, organised together with several organisations recognised by the IOC on the occasion of the Milan Cortina Olympics and Paralympics, and the organisation of the International Congress Assembly and the 75th anniversary celebration of PI, to be held in Ghent (B) from 4 to 6 June 2026, hoping to meet them in person.

19 november 2025 - The Olympic Truce Resolution was adopted today by the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The resolution calls for the observance of the Olympic Truce for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry and Milano Cortina 2026 Organising Committee President and IOC Member Giovanni Malagò welcomed the adoption, by consensus, in their addresses during the General Assembly.

The resolution “Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal” was agreed on by the UN Member States by consensus.

The resolution calls on Member States to observe the Olympic Truce from seven days before the start of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games (6 to 22 February 2026) until seven days after the end of the Paralympic Winter Games (6 to 15 March 2026), ensuring safe passage and participation for athletes and officials. 

IOC President Kirsty Coventry appealed for the adoption of the resolution during her address to the UN General Assembly, which was formally introduced on behalf of the Italian Government by Milano Cortina 2026 Organising Committee President Giovanni Malagò.

12 novembre - En ceremonia de gala por su 37 Aniversario de nacimiento, entrenadores, promotores, atletas, periodistas y directivos son distinguidos por su trayectoria dentro de distintas disciplinas del deporte.

Puntualmente como cada año, la cita de la historia, el presente y el futuro del deporte llegó convertido en héroes, muchos de ellos anónimos y otros iluminados con su luz propia, todos ellos reunidos en la Gala conmemorativa del 37º. Aniversario del Panathlon Monterrey, el organismo conciencia del  deporte mundial.

Al frente del evento, celebrado en uno de los hoteles íconos de la capital metropolitana de Nuevo León, las autoridades encabezadas por Melody Falcó Díaz, directora del Instituto Estatal de Cultura Física y Deporte, acompañada de Socorro Samaniego Garza, presidenta del Panathlon Distrito México y de José Pilar Sánchez González, presidente del Panathlon Club Monterrey.

El primero en hacer uso de la palabra fue el profesor José Pilar Sánchez González, quien en breves palabras realizó un viaje histórico por la historia y los objetivos del organismo que a nivel mundial está integrado por grandes personalidades, siendo uno de sus mayores exponentes y pensadores del mismo, el Papa Juan Pablo II y a nivel nacional y estatal Don Juan Lozano Martínez, ambos recordados por sus aportaciones ideológicas en beneficio del deporte.

Posteriormente la licenciada Melody Falcó Díaz, con la investidura de la representación del Gobernador del Estado Samuel García Sepúlveda, resaltó el desarrollo del deporte estatal en los últimos años, así como el apoyo a la infraestructura y a las distintas disciplinas, al igual que al deporte desde sus bases hasta el alto rendimiento, con resultados de trascendencia internacional.

Por su parte la profesora Socorro Samaniego, destacó la importancia del evento, que además de resaltar las virtudes de cada uno de los galardonados, reconoció públicamente su figura en la sociedad donde se desenvuelven muchos de ellos como héroes para muchos desconocidos.

Correspondió Martín Guadalupe Gómez Villalpando de la disciplina de Paratenis de Mesa, dar comienzo la entrega de distinciones, seguido por Blanca Rosa Sánchez González en el rubro de Educación Cultura y Deporte, Erwin Aarón Laberdesque Rodríguez entrenador Paralímpico Atletismo, Uziel Aarón Muñoz Galarza en Atletismo, Juan Manuel Rotter Alday en Natación.

Homero Chávez Solís Cronista Deportivo, Raúl Cepeda Gutiérrez en Educación Física, Gerardo Guerra Lozano en Fútbol Rápido, Víctor Manuel González Abrego en Pentatlón Deportivo Universitario zona norte NL y norte de Tamaulipas y Roberto Pérez Granados en Fútbol Americano.

El momento cumbre del evento se vivió durante la entrega de los galardones: “Sr. Juan Lozano Martínez”, otorgado al profesor José Soria Reyes, Promotor Deportivo, Premio “Ludís lungit” (el deporte une) recibido por la Ing. Martha Rodríguez Leyva, Entrenadora con reconocimiento nacional e internacional, Premio “Leyenda Deportiva” otorgado al basquetbolista Manuel Sáenz Rodríguez, Premio “Fuego Olímpico” al gimnasta aeróbico Iván Veloz Velázquez y  el Premio “Luchador Olmeca” entregado por su ejemplo de vida y superación al  Atleta Paralímpico Román Ruiz Castro.

Al término del evento, todos los galardonados además de recibir el reconocimiento por parte de los asistentes, familiares y acompañados, plasmaron   el significativo momento en la tradicional fotografía del recuerdo que pasa a formar parte de las páginas históricas del Panathlon Monterrey a lo largo de sus 37 años dando identidad a quienes desde hoy iluminarán más su paso por el deporte.

Bogotá, 30 y 31 de octubre 2025

La cancha se convirtió en un escenario de integración, juego limpio y transformación social con la primera edición de la “Copa Valores” FIDES – Panathlón – Compensar 2025, un torneo realizado los días 30 y 31 de octubre, de 8:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m., en el estadio de Compensar Av. 68, como parte del 13.º Encuentro Deportivo y de Artes Escénicas FIDES – Compensar.

Durante dos jornadas, seis equipos conformados por jóvenes entre 13 y 16 años, con capacidades cognitivas diversas de los programas FIDES y del programa de fútbol infantil de Compensar, se reunieron alrededor de un mismo propósito: vivir y promover los valores del deporte como herramienta de inclusión y construcción de sociedad.

Constanza Vanegas, Gerente encargada de Recreación, Deporte y Cultura de Compensar, destacó el impacto de la iniciativa:

“Esta Copa es un símbolo de respeto por la diferencia, de cooperación y de trabajo en equipo. A través del fútbol, queremos que niños y jóvenes compartan experiencias significativas que fortalezcan la inclusión y evidencien el poder del deporte para transformar realidades. Esta iniciativa se enmarca en la apuesta de Compensar por un bienestar integral que fomenta el desarrollo humano a través de la recreación y el disfrute.”

El torneo contó con la presencia de reconocidas leyendas del fútbol colombiano, quienes asumieron el rol de Directores Técnicos y acompañaron a los jugadores durante la competencia. Entre ellos estuvieron Juan Antonio Gómez Voglino, Óscar "Pájaro" Juárez, Arnoldo Iguarán, Álvaro Duarte, Nilton Bernal y Arturo Boyacá, invitados especiales comprometidos con inspirar a los jóvenes deportistas.

La competencia se desarrolló mediante dos triangulares, con semifinales y finales, bajo un reglamento diseñado para garantizar la participación equitativa de todos los jugadores. En total, participaron 6 equipos de 16 integrantes, conformados por 8 jóvenes atletas FIDES y 8 futbolistas de las escuelas Compensar, con igualdad de número entre hombres y mujeres.

Guillermo González López, Presidente del Panathlón Club Colombia, resaltó la relevancia del encuentro:

“Para Panathlón, participar en esta iniciativa junto a FIDES y Compensar es una oportunidad para impulsar una forma de vivir el deporte basada en el juego limpio, el respeto y la alegría. Estamos convencidos de que este torneo será un escenario inspirador para formar niños y jóvenes que contribuyan activamente a construir comunidades más empáticas y solidarias. Nuestro evento demostrará cómo el deporte construye sociedad y cómo el lema de Panathlón 'Ludis iungit' (el deporte une) se hace realidad.”

La Copa Valores se desarrolló en el marco del 13.º Encuentro Deportivo y de Artes Escénicas FIDES – Compensar, realizado del 28 al 31 de octubre, de 8:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m., en diversos escenarios de Compensar Av. 68. El Encuentro reunió a 500 participantes de distintas instituciones aliadas a la Fundación, quienes demostraron su talento en disciplinas deportivas como gimnasia, fútbol, bolos, baloncesto y tenis de mesa, así como en expresiones artísticas de danza, música y teatro.

Alejandro Escallón Lloreda, presidente de FIDES, destacó el compromiso de quienes han hecho posible esta trayectoria:

“Durante 13 años hemos llevado a cabo este evento en el que los jóvenes demuestran su potencial, fortalecen su autonomía y llenan de alegría a quienes los rodean. Este camino ha sido posible gracias al compromiso de sus familias, cuidadores y tutores, quienes han acompañado cada etapa. Invitamos al público a sumarse a esta nueva edición, que durante toda la semana ofreció presentaciones, exhibiciones y competencias, y en la que damos un paso más al integrar el arte y el deporte como un lenguaje universal que une, inspira y fortalece los lazos comunitarios.”

La “Copa Valores” FIDES – Panathlón – Compensar 2025 concluye así su primera edición, dejando una huella de inclusión, convivencia y desarrollo humano a través del deporte.

L’édition 2025 de la Panathlon Stars Night du Panathlon Club Gruyère s’est déroulé le vendredi 7 novembre 2025, par une soirée rythmée d’échanges de projections et de pauses gourmandes.

Cette fête à mis en lumière les espoirs régionaux tout en donnant la parole à nos invités d’honneur. Tout d’abord Christina Liebherr, médaillée olympique, qui est revenue sur le cheminement de sa carrière de haut niveau et sur la question de la transmission.

Edouard Boulanger, champion du monde de rallye-raid, co-pilote actuellement de Sébastien Loeb, qui nous a partagé sa gestion du risques et l’esprit d’équipe. Ainsi que Gaby Yerly, multiple couronné fédéral de lutte suisse qui a témoigné des ressorts mentaux nécessaires pour durer dans le sport. Une cérémonie où se sont croisées les générations et les différentes disciplines sportives dans un but de transmettre, inspirer et rappeler le rôle éducatif du sport.

On 4 November 2025, the online meeting of the Culture, Research and Education Commission (CCRE) of Panathlon International was held, chaired by Antonio Bramante with the participation of International President Giorgio Chinellato and the members of the Commission.

Among the main items on the agenda were: an update on the calendar of webinars for the second half of the year, organization for PI International Congress in Ghent (June 2026) and a proposal for a webinar dedicated to the Hikikomori phenomenon, focusing on how sport can help with this issue which is becoming increasingly topical around the world. President Chinellato highlighted the importance of addressing the topic with a multidisciplinary approach, involving Italian experts and international speakers.

President Bramante presented an illustrated report, sharing the next steps of the 2025-2026 programme, which includes the webinar on 24 November and other events in preparation for the Ghent Congress. The Commission reiterated its desire to link the training program to the organization that will lead to the major international event, which is part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of Panathlon International.

The Webinar Series promoted by the Culture, Research, and Education Commission (CCRE) continues, dedicated to exploring best educational practices related to fair play.

The next event, entitled "Teaching fair play in schools. Challenges, opportunities, and objectives: PWB best practices," will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

A hybrid meeting between the executives of Panathlon International, the Italian District and the Governors was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of Panathlon International in Rapallo.

The meeting focused on the proposed amendments to the PI Statute, presented by President Giorgio Costa and explained to International President Giorgio Chinellato and the PI Board Members. Positive synergy emerged on several points, while other aspects will require further discussion. The proposals will in any case be submitted to the next meeting of the District Presidents' Committee and subsequently discussed during the International Board meeting.

During the meeting, the upcoming events of Panathlon International were also discussed, starting with the Symposium on AI and Ethics on 12 February 2026 in Milan, on the occasion of the Winter Olympics, and the events scheduled in Ghent (Belgium) from 4 to 6 June 2026, which will include the International Congress, celebrations for the 75th anniversary of PI and the Ordinary and Extraordinary Assembly. There was also time for an update on the activities of the Junior Clubs, which are particularly lively and recently held a meeting in Orvieto.

The meeting ended in an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual trust, confirming the common desire to continue on the path of growth and renewal of the Association.

The latest issue of our PI Magazine has been translated with the support of Artificial Intelligence and subsequently revised by our editorial team .

This work has been complemented by the valuable support of some volunteer Panathletes, involved in an initiative that aims to reduce costs without compromising the quality of the publication.

The quality of our magazine remains a fundamental priority.

For years, PI Magazine has been a key tool not only for spreading sports culture and the values of Panathlon International, but also for giving visibility to the activities of our Clubs, both within and outside the Movement.
