P.C. Lugano - From Geo Mantegazza to Lara Gut, excellence is ageless
During its monthly meeting held on April 20, 2017 in the prestigious location of Villa Sassa, in front of a large audience, President of Panathlon International, Pierre Zappelli assisted by President of Panathlon Club Lugano, Stefano Giulieri praised two leading figures who, although at different times, have reached and savored the quality of excellence that each athlete is dreaming of chasing in his career.

For the 6th consecutive year, the Panathlon Wallonie-Bruxelles has rewarded the authors of the most beautiful gestures and Fair Play projects in the year 2016 in French-speaking Belgium. A new opportunity for the association to highlight those who do live the most beautiful sporting values on a daily basis.
Thursday March 23, at the Cultural Center San Gaetano in Padua, will take place the annual conference organized by Professor Zanovello, Past- President of Panathlon Club Padova, on the theme "Le emozioni dello sport attravero le immagini" (the emotions of sport through images).
At the invitation of the belgian Senate the Panathlon Clubs of District belgium have been invited to the 2nd Conference on “Sport, the spirit of humanity” which will be held in Brussles on Friday 31th march at the “Salle des Congrès Maison des Parlementaires”
Antonio Micillo è stato eletto, oggi, Presidente del CONI Comitato Regionale Liguria per il quadriennio 2017 – 2020.
Antonio Micillo, genovese, 71 anni. Laureato in Chimica, ha ricoperto durante la sua lunga carriera dirigenziale sportiva vari incarichi, tra gli altri, Presidente della Unione Sportiva Quarto, Presidente del Comitato Ligure della Federazione Italiana Vela. E’ stato il Segretario Generale della Federazione Italiana Vela.
Presidente del Panathlon Club Genova e Governatore dell’Area4 –Liguria del Panathlon International. Per il CONI, ha avuto l’incarico di Segretario del CONI Genova e Segretario del CONI Liguria, nel quadriennio 2012-2016 è stato il Delegato del CONI per Genova e Provincia. Stella d’Argento al merito sportivo.
Diary from Africa on its way - In November 2014, at the award ceremony of the International Graphic Competition in Pavia, President Enrico Prandi and Secretary of PI Domenico Chiesa Foundation Sergio Allegrini signed with the Brownsea Foundation, represented by President Guido Monti and Director of IKSDP-Gwassi Kenya Harambee Project Antonio Labate, a collaboration protocol that focuses on sport, as a tool for the growth of young people in the countries in which the Brownsea Foundation collaborates. This led to the inauguration of the Panathlon Club La Malpensa Nyandiwa-junior.
Silvia Serio, a student of International Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, did an internship in Nyandiwa through the Brownsea Foundation and wrote an exciting "Logbook “on summer 2016 initiatives.
Panathlon Club Lisbon organized at the Olympic Committee of Portugal an international conference within the framework "The role of parents in Sport". The event was a great success, given the impact that this problem continues to have in society, in terms of training, ethics, fair play and sportsmanship.
The antenna of Panathlon in Brussels, working for a few months, will become something more meaningful than a mere appendix of Panathlon International in Europe, but it will take on the appearance of a real representation in the European institutions.
This is the sense of the conclusions reached by the working group, which met in Brussels at the headquarters generously made available by Philippe Vlaeminck, member of Panathlon and renowned lawyer. President Pierre Zappelli was present along with Past president Giacomo Santini, International board member Paul Standaert, the president of District Belgium, Thierry Zintz, president of the club Wallonie Bruxelles Philippe Housiaux, besides Vlaeminck. The different dynamics were analyzed that allow Panathlon International to participate in the activities of the European organizations where policies affecting sport are treated.
The first contact has already been accomplished with the European Commission and now some initiatives have started to gain visibility in the European Parliament. The main aim of this action is to encourage the submission of joint projects such as the Erasmus plus sport program, with the involvement of all Panathlon clubs and many external partners, such as the International Committee for Fair Play and the International Pierre de Coubertin committee. The operational and logistical terms were set that will lead to the creation of a real seat where all panathletes can go for advice and information on activities in Europe.
Then President Zappelli reported on the initiative that will lead to the creation of a similar antenna in Lausanne with regard to the relations with the International Olympic Committee.
