E’ stata una bella e indimenticabile giornata quella che ha visto il Panathlon Club Molfetta partecipare, il 29 settembre, alla EWOS 2019 e dare vita ad una manifestazione che rimarrà certamente nella memoria e nei cuori di coloro che vi hanno partecipato.
Il tema scelto per l’iniziativa è stato “Il mare, la vita e lo sport” che ha visto l’adesione di una nutrita schiera di panathleti con i loro familiari ai quali, successivamente, si sono uniti numerosi cittadini (specie giovani e ragazzi).
La manifestazione prevedeva una passeggiata amatoriale lungo il waterfront di Molfetta per raggiungere la locale sede della Lega Navale (compartecipe dell’iniziativa) e imbarcarsi su natanti messi a disposizione da quest’ultima e procedere alla pesca della plastica presente nelle superficie delle acque del nostro porto.
L’entusiasmo per la novità è stato contagioso e tutti si sono imbarcati vivendo una giornata che ha consentito loro di pescare plastica (poco, in verità, il che depone a favore della pulizia del nostro mare) e di osservare le bellezze della nostra città dal mare.
L’esperienza è stata bellissima, complice le favorevoli condizioni meteorologiche, e il Panathlon Club Molfetta non può che ringraziare la Lega Navale per la collaborazione offerta, prodromo di ulteriori e proficui incontri, e i valenti equipaggi delle imbarcazioni che hanno caricato soci e simpatizzanti.
Riteniamo che gli scopi dell’EWOS siano stati pienamente raggiunti, come dimostrano anche i discorsi conclusivi del presidente della Lega navale, dott. Felice Sciancalepore, e del Panathlon Club Molfetta, prof. Angelantonio Spagnoletti che, tra l’altro, hanno proceduto alla premiazione delle squadre che hanno raccolto la maggiore quantità di plastica.
La giornata si è conclusa con un incontro conviviale nel corso del quale i partecipanti hanno avuto modo di gustare le prelibatezze del mare di Molfetta, ma soprattutto, di parlare dell’esperienza vissuta e delle meraviglie della nostra città vista dal mare.

Dopo alcuni anni di assenza si è costituito, nei saloni del Grand Hotel, il Panathlon Club Rimini che associa donne ed uomini uniti nel perseguire gli ideali tipici che stanno a fondamento di ogni pratica sportiva.
Il neonato Club, si propone di portare avanti un messaggio molto chiaro. L’attività sportiva, non va considerata semplicemente come puro esercizio fisico, ma come momento educativo, che promuove la lealtà e la correttezza, nelle competizioni sportive ad ogni livello ed attraverso la cooperazione tra gli organismi responsabili dello sport, si coltiva l’integrità fisica e morale degli sportivi, ed in particolare dei più giovani tra essi.

International President Pierre Zappelli was also present at the event. It has been a great success, thanks to the enthusiasm and welcome of President Rose-Marie Repond, of the Freiburg Club’s members and the interesting themes that have been addressed.

European Week of Sport. The GO!

13 primary schools and more than 4000 pupils enjoyed to start their new week of school with a funny and sporty moment.
Panathlon IB member Paul Standaert was interviewd by the local news to describe how this initiative fits in the Partnership of P.I. in the partnership with EWOS.
The GO! Schools organized the sports promotion in collaboration with Panathlon Gent vzw, a network platform for sports ambassadors. “We argue for the importance of equality in sport. It is important that all children have equal opportunities to exercise.
This joint moment at all schools fits in with that philosophy, "says Paul Standaert, board member of Panathlon Ghent and chairman of the Board of Directors of Scholengroep Gent.

Paul Standaert, International Board Member, represented Panathlon International at the EWOS Opening Ceremony and Presidency Sport Conference on Safeguarding Children in Sport.
P.I. EU was represented at the EWOS Opening Ceremony and Presidency Sport Conference on Safeguarding Children in Sport.
The Opening ceremony took place at the Leppaävaara Sports Park in the presence of the EC Commissioner for Yought & Sport Mr. Navracsics.
At the seminar in the afternoon their was the time to discuss about the role of sport organizations and role of education.
The main topic for the conference the next day was 'Safeguarding Children in Sport'.
Finnish Minister of Sport Hanna Kosonen welcomed the participants and pointed out the importance of national and international collaboration on the issues.
Commissioner Mr. Navracsics insisted on the actions to start sporting as young as possible as a ‘good habit’ wich will most likely become acquainted when started at younger age.
With all the long-life benefits to be expected with these habits.
MR Navracsics was proud of the success of EWOS at this 5thanniversary and hopes that the next EC Comm Mss Maria Gabriel will further develop the initiative and the resolutions of the Tatu convention.
Also combatting sport manipulation and promoting good governance is a big topic. Already 51 projects in EC and 17mil Eu invested in studies and projects (Erasmus+)
Experts from EUA, FIFA IOC, ENGSO, University of Loraine, University of Jyväkylä and more, presented their views and discussed about a large specturm of issues, surveys and projects concerning safegurding children and how to create a safe environment for Sport.

There was a lot of Panathlon during the day of the World Fair Play Awards delivery in the Council Chamber of Pest's Town Hall. The Hungarian capital welcomed the guests of the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP) with a programme full of significant moments.
Morning dedicated to a conference in the auditorium of the University of Physical Education promoted by the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) which wanted to celebrate its 25 years of life. Among the most significant interventions, that of Zsigmond Nagy who illustrated the perspectives arising from the relations between Fair Play, Ethics and Sports Legislation.
The award ceremony – see the full list below – featured many of the names reported by Panathlon International as a member of CIFP.
Fabio Caramel received Pierre de Coubertin Trophy for Gesture from the hands of President Jeno Kamuti. The proposal had come from the Panathlon Club Venice.
David Smetanine winner of the Trophy for the Career was absent because he was involved in Paralympic competitions. Marie Claire Nepi secretary of the Club of Grenoble withdrew the award for him. The French club has made also the name of Geo Perli, who has received the Diploma of Honour for his Career in the spirit of fair play.
Roberto Camelia, proposed by Area 9 – Sicily, has received the Diploma of Honour for Career. He was accompanied by Sicilian panathletes from Syracuse who have widely celebrated him.
Federico Bollati and Rodolfo Carrera, both candidates from the Club of Pavia, received the Diploma of Honour for Gesture from the hands of CIFP Vice-President Maurizio Monego.
Massimo Righi proposed by the Club of Bononia and CEO of the League of Volleyball Serie A has received the Diploma of Honour for “Promotion”.
Panathlon's satisfaction was reflected in the blue eyes of Simona Callo, Secretary General of P.I. representing President Pierre Zappelli. It was a beautiful celebration and the parade of so many champions who, with their values testify sport’s humanity, gratified the feelings that every good sportsman cultivates.
